An Interdenominational Christian Charity

Old Rectory, Bolnhurst,Bedford, MK44 2ES
Reg Charity No.327398

The Stables Christian Centre is set in 5 acres of countryside in the village of Bolnhurst, 6 miles North of Bedford. It is home to the Seed Sowers Training Project and other activities.

What we do

The Seed Sowers Training Project offers work-based training to small groups of vulnerable adults, who currently find an ordinary workplace too difficult.

We care for five acres of woodland, hedges and meadow and grow herb and wildflower plants to sell — over 100 different types! We produce our own preserves (jams, jellies, marmalades, chutney) from our own grown ingredients where possible. We also make quality craft items — cards, jewellery, fabric and scented gifts. These are all on sale in our on-site shop as well as some shops in the local area.

All our activities are based around our craft rooms, kitchens, gardens and greenhouses. They are designed to help participants progress towards independence, confidence and working capacity, within a safe and pleasant rural environment.

From May to December on the first Saturday of the month we run a coffee shop serving hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes. (open 2-4.30pm)

We also have a conference room available for hire with access to the grounds and woodland walks.

Sales - Open for Business!

We are pleased to announce that our plant tables are open for the purchase of herbs and wild flowers.  Please call by any time as these are outdoors.  When no-one is on duty an honesty jar will be there for your cash. Hand sanitiser is available outside the front door.  Click here for this year’s plant list - they are not all available yet, but we are doing our best!  Please come and buy plants, preserves and crafts at our normal opening times.
